about the group

Copy of CHORDLESS banne.jpg

CHORDLESS is a jazz group centralized in the Phoenix area, specializing in playing improvised classic jazz music with sophisticated artistry and respect for the tradition of the music. from miles to ellington, gigi gryce to thelonious monk, we are constantly evolving in our performed repertoire and looking to find a way to bring new life to old standards.

AS you might have guessed, our group does not include any instruments that play chords. we are made up of trumpet, upright bass, and drumset, and because of our unique instrumentation, our group has great flexibility in the sound level, energy, stylistic choices and more of our music. we can go from relaxed and in the background, to energetic and intense in any of our music.

IF you are interested in what we do and having us play for you, we are currently booking performances for 2020. we play corporate events, family gatherings, coffeehouses, large performance venues, small venues, and more.
